EMS National Chamber Music Day 2015

EMS National Chamber Music Day presents: Slide Too Far

On September 19th, Enterprise Music Scotland will host National Chamber Music Day, an event which will see professional chamber music ensembles perform in imaginative locations across the country to celebrate Scottish chamber music. This will be the fourth time EMS have hosted National Chamber Music Day and we aim to build upon previous year’s success in promoting chamber music to new audiences, raising awareness of local chamber music promoters and providing paid performance opportunities for chamber musicians.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, with over 60 musicians matched with 20 promoters. There will be 30 performances being held in 27 different locations across the length and breadth of Scotland. We are looking forward to events in some amazing venues including galleries, museums, shops, hospitals, garden centres and even on a ferry!

One of the new strands to the day will be two roving ensembles! Whilst the trio Granny Green tour the central belt on their "Granny Green Grand Day Out", the trombone quartet Slide Too Far will undertake their own version of a Glasgow pubcrawl.

The quartet will race between three of Glasgow’s most famous pubs providing amazing musical entertainment along the way. Slide Too Far will visit Drygate at 3pm! What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than enjoying some brass with your beer!

TIME: 3pm
