'Hearts Broken, Heads Turned' Album Launch

Jarlath Henerderson has made a name for himself as one of the leading exponents of the Uilleann Pipes but let that not limit your idea of what this man is doing with his musical ambitions. On his huge rise to success in his duo with Ross Ainslie thats kept him circumnavigating the worls and playing in front of icons such as Nelson Mandela, he has secretly harboured both an exquisite singing voiceand skilled guitar and string work. He has particulary keen ear for modern arrangements and here presents his debut solo project and album that will re-shape the way we think folk music should sound. Sneak previews have revealed a stunningly ambitious and well produced manifesto, presenting the songs of his native Ireland and adopted Scotland in sparkling ways.

His holy-anticipated solo debut 'Hearts Broken, Head Turned', comprises bold yet sensitive arrangements of traditional songs, featuring Henderson on guitar, pipes and whistles, together with his hand-picked line-up of Hamish Napier (keyboards, flute), Innes Watson (fiddle guitar), Duncan Lyall (double bass) and Andrea Gobbie (soundscapes and modular synths).

Support for the gig comes in the form of Edinburgh born singer songwriter Blue Rose Code who will be performing a solo set, including tracks from his critically acclaimed new album 'The Bird Is On The Wing'. Funky breakbeats of traditional and not-so-traditional samples will be provided by Dolphin Boy, a well loved figure in festival circles.

The evening promises to be a genre defying display of the best of Scotland's modern music scene.
