Drygate Brewing Sessions: Batch No.1

17 Jul

The inaugural session in our brand new series of gigs, blending different genres to create one heady musical mix.

A melodic brew of folk, indie and jazz…

Welcome to the inaugural Drygate Brewing Session: our first batch, if you will, of a series of nights blending different kinds of music to create a heady mix of local talent, washed down with whatever you fancy from our immense bar. This is, in fact, probably one of the best stocked gigs you'll ever attend.

This month's talent comes from three different corners of Glasgow's musical triangle:

FOLK: Blas Collective On Location - a bevy of likeminded folk artists (Jenn Butterworth, Innes Watson and Aileen Gobbi) who meet up, armed with a few song and chord sheets, to sing their favourite songs and generally have a great time.

JAZZ: O'Malley, Harrison & Henderson - three leading members of the Scottish jazz scene, namely trombonist Phil O’Malley (SNJO, Salsa Celtica), pianist and composer Paul Harrison (Breach, Herschel 36) and drummer Stephen Henderson.

INDIE: Poor Frisco - an indie rock band formed by a group of East Kilbride pals with a shared love of The Pixies, The Magnetic Fields, Silver Jews, The Shins and Belle & Sebastian.

It's free to get in; just make your way down from 7.30pm.
