#DRYGATERECOMMENDS: SUMMER BEERS

Share

Yes, 'summer' is a rather strained concept when you live in Glasgow, but since opening we've enjoyed some scorching sunny days on the beer terrace (and when we say 'enjoyed', we mean watching you enjoy your brews and charcuterie in the sunshine while we rush about getting them for you). The best part has to be when the sun starts to go down on the East End of the city and the skyline comes in to focus and this fine city looks hazy and magnificent.

But anyway, we digress. Beer terrace aside, we've also got some really good summer drinking in the Bottle Shop so we asked the experts to pick out their favourite ones for those long sunny days outdoors.

BROOKLYN SUMMER ALE
An 100% British malt golden ale from NYC (£2.20)

WESTBROOK WHITE THAI
Belgian wit beer with ginger, lemongrass and sorachi ace hops making for a very tasty culture clash. (£3.90)

SIERRA NEVADA TORPEDO
All the way from the legendary Sierra Nevada brewery in California, this pint can packs a punch at 7.2% (£3.45)

SIERRA NEVADA SUMMER FEST
Just a really, really good crisp summer lager (£2.80)

MIKELLER LAMBIC RANGE
The limited edition Spontan Peach and Spontan Gooseberry - both excellent (£9.80)
Enjoy. We certainly have been.
